Gothic

Gothic RPG on your netbookNetbook Gamer reader Mathew lets us know about Gothic, a decent 3rd person RPG in a similar vein to Morrowind. Gothic works well on netbooks, even on high settings, but can occasionally get a bit choppy when there`s some heavy action. As well as the usual RPG fair, Gothic contains an emphasis on dialogue with its many NPC’s and also contains a large amount of puzzles. The story itself is quite open ended and has a substantial amount of gameplay. (its even worth playing again!)

Combat is a little clunky by todays standard, but works well on your netbooks small keyboard. Essentially tool up with your best weapons/spells and bludgeon your opponant into submission, enemy AI is not the best. But it works! Its a good game, one of the best RPG’s out there and a bit of a cult classic as well.

There is a demo available here, if you want to check it out:- http://www.gothic.de/gothic1/

Available in English and German

Amazon have boxed copys for as low as $2.50, we think Gothic is well worth a look!
