Torchlight

Blake gave a shout out for Torchlight, a Diablo 2 stlye game. "I have only played the game on a pc, but the is a compadability function in the options for better gameplay on netbooks."

I note with interest, that the player make take a break from Dungeon style bashing with a touch of fishing! \o/

Also writing in about Torchlight is NBG user Youngblood he says...

"Torchlight is an action role-playing-game for the PC made by the creators of Diablo, Fate, and the never-released Mythos among other games. Set in the mining town of Torchlight, players will adventure to uncover the mysteries of the Ember mines. It offers a fully featured character leveling system, randomized dungeons, hordes of monsters, and gobs of great loot."

"Amazing game it will totally blow your mind when you play this and realize its only 20 bucks some of the guys from Diablo 1, 2 2LOD and FATE got together and made this game to get thier company going if your a fan of the diablo or fate series buy this game and support these guys help them get started cause they are off to get things already. Plus it has a built in NETBOOK mode."

I have a Lenovo S12, with the VIA chipset. I'm running Win 7 with 3 GB of RAM. Torchlight is very choppy, even with everything turned down and the "netbook" box checked.

Same here, Eee PC 1201HAB 1.33Ghz, 1Gb RAM WinXP. Game is too choppy to play even with all settings turned down and netbook mode one, I haven't tried overclocking though. It's a shame too because Steam synchs your character saves.

Yup. Tried too, with my newly bought Lenovo S10-2, upgraded to 2Gb RAM. Even with lowest settings, the game ain't playable (I'd accept low rez, no glow graphics, but this isn't worth it). I had high hopes, actually, because I'd seen the Netbook mode when playing on my other computer.

This runs just fine on my Eee Pc 1005hab. I have all default settings and netbook mode on. This is lots of fun and has very little lag (for me, at least).
