Everyday Shooter

Developer: Queasy Games.

Release Date: 8th May 2008.

OS: Windows: XP/Vista.

Website: http://www.everydayshooter.com/ .

Price: £5.99, get it from steam.

Genre: Shooter, Casual, Indie

Brief Description:

Everyday Shooter is an album of games exploring the expressive power of abstract shooters. Dissolute sounds of destruction are replaced with guitar riffs harmonizing over an all-guitar soundtrack, while modulating shapes celebrate the flowing beauty of geometry.

Play through different levels each with a completely unique musical, graphical, and gameplay style. Shoot to trigger musical sounds and riffs that combine to form the final soundscape of the game. Use points earned in the game to unlock extra lives, shuffle mode, and different visual filters.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • OS: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
  • Processor: 1.7 Ghz
  • Memory: 256 MB
  • Graphics: OpenGL compatible graphics card
  • Hard Drive: 36MB

How It Went On The Samsung NC10:

This game was made for netbooks, which is incredible foresight on the developers part considering it was released 4 years ago. Installing the game was a snap, just the standard steam affair. On first run the game is windowed and at 800x600, but you can change it to match your netbook resolution at full screen and full graphic settings without any hindrance to performance. Controls are great, no mouse used at all! Just the arrow keys w, a, s, d and enter, so you don’t even have to worry about a mouse.

Not much else to say performance wise, I just think this game is fantastic for pick up and play gaming, which is precisely what you’d want on a netbook. The great visuals and sounds make this game a joy to play.

Is it Worth it?

£6 and 36MB disk space, the only question is “do you have enough time?”
