Developer: FacePunch Studios. Release Date: possibly 2nd April 2009 OS: Windows xp/vista Website: http://www.facewound.com/ Price: Free Download: http://www.garry.tv/go.php?http://www.facewound.com/dl/fw_secret_dl.zip Download Game+ Launcher Tool (for custom resolution and more): http://rapidshare.com/files/178021708/fw_Launcher_Skins.rar Genre: Platformer, Shoot ‘em Up. Brief Description: FaceWound is a sweet little game squeezed out by fictional company FacePunch studios, a team of four. The programmer Garry (Garry’s mod’s Garry) released an incomplete but free FaceWound version. Don’t worry, the free version is the most up-to-date build of the game. FaceWound has been dubbed a “2D NEXTGEN PLATFORMER,” in this case meaning a platformer with a large array of weapons decent art, beautiful animation and, of course, a great physics engine. Fight off hordes of zombies/aliens/mutated bugs in enough levels to warrant not counting. Create your own weapons, characters and maps in this fully customizable build.

None available
My Opinion Of The Game:
A sweet little platformer, that is incredibly addictive even while devoid of any ounce of plot. Playing the game is highly amusing and surprisingly easy to use on the Samsung’s touchpad. I particularly enjoy the rag-doll physics the enemies (and the player) take on. My legs quake at the sight of FaceWounds shinny (and bouncy) water, its heat hazes caused by various fires/explosions and the distorting effects of the lazer weapons. With its cool explosions with good looking particle effects this is a serious contender for the “Best time wasting software on my netbook” award 2009. Some Screen Shots
How It Went On The Samsung NC10: Installation: Doesn’t require an install just unpack and play! Optimizing Performance: There are no graphic options in game, however if you download the launcher then you can set the resolution to whatever you prefer. I found that full screen was a bit too much for Sammy, giving out a 14fps MAX, I changed it to windowed mode 720x576 and received a much more acceptable 21fps as the maximum. Perfectly playable and damn enjoyable too. Issues With Gameplay: As stated before, this game is doable with just the touchpad, and on the Samsung nc10 that is a statement and a half, obviously a mouse would make you much more kickass at the game, but that goes without saying (so I didn’t just say it, ok?). Is It Worth it? Did you not just read this glowing review, or even glance at the price? If you are looking for a game to not play, look else where. |
